About the organiser
The Tampere Film Festival is an annual meeting place for both film lovers and film industry professionals, and a showcase for Finnish and international short films. First organised in 1969, the event is one of the most important short film festivals in Europe. The Tampere Film Festival’s International Competition is a way for a short film to be nominated for an Oscar, BAFTA or EFA award. Each year, in addition to the competition films, the festival also features screenings related to current themes, as well as documentaries, retrospectives and video art. During the festival, there will also be a variety of seminars, workshops and panel discussions for professionals and the general public alike.
